The fruitful cooperation between the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of Czestochowa Pedagogical University (Poland) and the Faculty of Education of Jan Evangelista Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem (The Czech Republic) started a long time ago.
One form of the joint effort were the Mathematical Schools organized in succession in Poland and Czech Republic. Later on the Institute of Mathematics of Pedagogical University in Krakow (Poland) and the Pedagogical Faculty of Catholic University in Ružomberok (Slovakia) joined ranks. In 2004 the Mathematical School for the first time took place in Slovakia (hotel Malina, Ružomberok). The hills of Veľká Fatra provided a beautiful background for the deepening collaboration.
