Introduction
The Faculty of Education at the Catholic University in Ružomberok, The Deparment of Pre-school and Elementary Education and The Department of Mathematics, in partnership with The Union of Slovak Mathematicians and Physicists (the JSMF), invite you to the Scientific Conference with international participation: Cognitive process in Geometry.
The conference will be held on 21–22 June, 2016 at the premises of The Faculty of Education of the Catholic University in Ružomberok, Hrabovskej cesta 1 (map), under the auspices of the Dean of The Faculty of Education of The Catholic University doc. PaedDr. Tomáš Jablonský, PhD.
The aim of the conference is to:
- create a space for exchanging experiences in the field of content and approaches to teaching geometry at different school levels
- discuss the concept of teaching geometry in the context of developing spatial thinking and reasoning
The conference will take into account the following areas:
- Geometric ideas of pre-school children and younger school age pupils
- Geometric concepts and misconseptions of students in primary and secondary schools and methods of teaching geometry
- Geometric preparation of future teachers of mathematics
- Current problems of teaching geometry at different school levels
Working languages of the conference are: Slovak, Czech, Polish and English.

- until May 30th, 2016: dates of notification of reviews results and contribution acceptation
